The Independent Wood Processors Association represents the small- and medium-sized, family-owned manufacturers that take BC lumber and make it into something more — flooring, siding, decking, mouldings, veneer, fencing, pallets, and other engineered products.
It's labour-intensive, value-added work, and it's where BC fibre becomes far more jobs and far more value for the province. For decades we've been our members' trusted advisors and their voice in the rooms where forestry policy is decided.
More about the Association →We advocate for fair fibre access, stronger communities and a resilient value-added sector — so more of every tree harvested is finished here at home.
Throughout BC, value-added manufacturers transform renewable wood fibre into finished products, generating more employment and reinvesting in local communities — one of the province's great untold economic stories.
Value-added manufacturers can only thrive with reliable, fair access to the fibre and residuals they depend on.
Every step of further processing keeps skills, wages and reinvestment in the BC towns that depend on forestry.
Getting more value from each tree is the most sustainable path for BC's working forests and the climate.
Whether you process wood or shape policy, we'd be glad to hear from you. Join the movement to keep more value in BC.
